Besides spending much too much time on my PC, I also work with the socialist and feminist singing group, VELVET FIST. During the day I'm a music teacher at a college. I used to be a queer activist with the lesbian and gay direct action group OutRage! There's a book about the group - but who's that on the front cover: outrage?
Now I'm antigay. I play the piano and the 22-key mbira and am working on being a magician.

STOP THE PARTY, I WANT TO GET OFF: On Pain, the Past and Politics of Lesbian and Gay Pride

Fernando Guasch maintains that there has to be more to being gay than simply being funny, fashionable and fabulous. He argues that we will never find love, friendship and acceptance from other gay men unless we stop relying on superficialities and start dealing with the real pain underlying our predicament.

My Favorite Quote:

What is a homosexual?...a man who by his very nature is out of step with the world, who refuses to enter into the system that organises the entire world. The homosexual rejects that, denies that, shatters that whether he wants to or not. For him romance is only a kind of stupidity or deception - for him only pleasure exists. To live with surprises, changes, to take risks, to be exposed to insult: it's the opposite of social constraint, of the social comedy. It follows that if the homosexual accepts more or less to play a role in this comedy, like Proust or Gide, he's cheating, he's lying: everything he says becomes suspect.....
